Paul Nicol Room Dedication
"A Champion is a winner, A hero, Someone who never gives up, Even when the going gets rough, A hopeful spirit."- Mattie Stepanek This quote describes Paul Nicol.
The Board of the Hanson Food Pantry recently honored Paul Nicol at a small gathering at the Pantry. The kitchen area of the Pantry is now the “Paul Nicol Kitchen”. To give the Pantry a permanent home, Paul spearheaded the renovation of the old Nurses’ Dorm on the grounds of the vacated Plymouth County Hospital. With the help of volunteers, Paul worked tirelessly for over two years to make the space a welcoming place for people in the need of food and assistance. Paul’s attention to detail is evident all throughout the Pantry, such as refinishing the original hardwood floors, removing mold and mildew and guaranteeing the Pantry was a safe environment for all clients and volunteers. Rep Josh Cutler recently presented Paul with a citation from the Massachusetts House of Representatives. At the presentation, the Board thanked Rep. Cutler for his help in securing a grant for the Pantry. The grant allowed the Pantry to purchase new appliances, prepping tables, hygiene products and moving carts. The Pantry is forever indebted to wonderful people and volunteers like Paul Nicol and Rep. Josh Cutler.
