Every year Liberty Mutual sends a team of workers to the Pantry, to do community service. They have helped with shelving, writing expiration dates on products, raking and cleaning up the outside of the building. Because of the COVID-19 virus it was not possible for the volunteers to come this year, so Liberty Mutual sent a nice donation check instead. Thank you, Liberty Mutual https://www.LibertyMutual.com
The Hanson Food Pantry has been selected to receive a Harvard Pilgrim Community Spirit 9/11 Mini-Grant. The grant is to be used for food for our clients. Gabrielle Marchelletta was the employee who requested the grant for the Pantry. The 9/11 Mini-Grant was established in 2002, to commemorate those Harvard Pilgrim members who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Since the program began almost $5 million have been given out to organizations throughout the Harvard Pilgrim health plan service area.
